Quintessential Cottage Garden

Dartmoor

This cottage garden started as a blank canvas of two acres, overgrown with unloved lawns and shrubbery. Over the past four years, it has been an honour to transform it into a stunning, vibrant space with a rich mix of flowering perennials and shrubs.

We've designed the 100-metre herbaceous border to provide continuous colour, featuring fragrant roses, yew topiary and an eclectic mix of cottage garden favourites alongside some more unusual species to add interest.

The once plain grass meadow now bursts with life as a flourishing wildflower haven. To make this possible, we introduced yellow rattle to reduce grass fertility and promote healthy soil.
